Abstract

Cervical cancer (CC) is a leading cause of death among women of reproductive age in low- and middle-income countries. Radiotherapy (RT) is the standard curative treatment for locally advanced disease, but in Nigeria, late-stage diagnosis often relegates patients to palliative care. Outcomes are further undermined by disparities in access, infrastructure, and adherence to global standards. This study evaluates cervical cancer radiotherapy component of the treatment-and-care dimension, as an established component of definitive management for eligible cervical cancer patients with an important role in palliation. Assessing the availability, accessibility, treatment processes, and conformity of radiotherapy services with recommended standards provides an indication of how the radiotherapy component of cervical cancer care contributes to the broader WHO 90–70–90 elimination strategy by 2030..
